Going Analog

Where video game industry veterans introduce great board games to video gamers

Podcast #50: Our 50th episode! Our favorite games, genres, podcast moments, and more

To celebrate Going Analog's 50th podcast episode, we round up the original crew to argue -- er, to discuss what are some of the best games, period.

A long time ago before industry folks were willing to take the time to shoot the shirt with Going Analog, this original crew filled all our airwaves: board game hoarder/producer Dan "Shoe" Hsu, board game enabler/host Christina Ha, beige-game expert and podcast/video editor Mike Zipkin, and indie-loving Nick Suttner.

Two years later and we've reached our 50th episode! So we got the gang back together to do what we do best: argue about games and Shoe's overly strict topic choices. With our powers combined, we discuss:

  1. Mike (editor): What's your favorite board game genre and game within that genre? (3:08)
  2. Shoe (producer): What are your top 3 games in the BoardGameGeek Top 100? (14:32)
  3. Nick (contributor): What was the game that got you into board gaming? (36:51)
  4. Christina (host): What's your favorite Going Analog Podcast memory? (50:58)

Thank you for being with us through 50 shows! To celebrate, we're giving away two copies of the limited-edition King of Tokyo: Dark Edition (one for a Twitter follower, one for a Facebook/Instagram follower). To enter:

1. How to enter on Twitter (UPDATE: Congrats to Brian Wood for winning the Twitter drawing)

2. How to enter on Facebook/Instagram (you can get two entries here, one for each social media account) (UPDATE: Congrats to Angela Li for winning the Instagram/FB drawing)

In about a week, we'll pick one winner on Twitter and one winner on Facebook/Instagram and reach out to them on those platforms. We'll also update this post. This contest is only valid in the contintental U.S. and is void where prohibited.

Win this!
