Dice Tower's Roy Cannaday joins the crew to discuss...The Crew and other Kennerspiel and Spiel des Jahres nominees and winners. And what's a "Euro" or "Ameritrash" game these days, anyways?
So maybe we didn't notice when the Spiel des Jahres nominees and winners were announced this year but our excuse: We wanted to do our due diligence and get them all played before telling you about them! Dice Tower Production Chief Roy Cannaday joins Christina, Shoe, and Mike to discuss the Spiel des Jahres (game of the year) and Kennerspiel des Jahres (fancy connoisseur game of the year) nominees and winners from 2020.
Roy also has his first board game design coming from Grey Fox Games: Last Light, a simultaneous-turn 4X (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate) that you can play four times in the time it takes to play another 4X. (It's true!) But don't call it a Eurogame...or do? How useful are the terms "Euro" and "Ameritrash" anyways to describe these genres?
