Where video game industry veterans introduce great board games to video gamers

Going Analog Podcast #24: Gen Con Prep

Prepping for Gen Con (w/ advice for newbs), fave memories from the show, and the unlimited-auction game Q.E.

As we type this, we are t-minus one day from the start of Gen Con, North America’s largest tabletop gaming convention. So this episode, we welcome back Jess Yi and Joe Canalin, two reviewers from our old video series. This is Jess’s first Gen Con and Joe’s second (aww). These Gen Con babies are very excited for the big show and have some interesting perspectives to share.

Rounding out the crew are Nick Suttner (also a Gen Con one-timer) and host Christina Ha (the veteran of this group at five years). The topics this week:

  1. Christina: Our favorite memories from Gen Con.
  2. Joe: Don’t miss these alternative activities surrounding the show.
  3. Jess: What this newb is looking forward to (and our advice for him).
  4. Nick: In non-Gen Con news, let’s talk about that weird unlimited-auction game Q.E.
